We have recently sponsored Australian motor racing driver Will Lowing during the BRSCC Formula Ford Festival — one of the world’s greatest motorsport competitions which held its 51st tournament at Brands Hatch in Kent.

Hagan Homes Founder and Chair, James Hagan, has been spending time in Australia as he expands his building footprint there, with an initial focus on sustainable starter home properties.

While there he has been inspired by the talent and efforts of 17-year-old Will Lowing who has been in the racing circuit since the age of eight.

The Sydney-born sportsman’s dream to participate in the Formula Ford Festival in England came true when Mr Hagan approached him and offered to sponsor his bid.

That partnership saw Mr Lowing make it to the semi-final in what was a “learning experience” and his first trip out of Australia.

Speaking about the opportunities the sponsorship has presented him, Will Lowing said: “I met James at Wakefield Park Raceway, a country race track in Australia where I actually raced against him in a Formula Ford race.

“When he heard I was trying to get to England to compete at the Formula Ford Festival he offered some assistance. I’m very grateful for this as it has allowed me to fulfil one of my short-term goals of coming to England to race and learn from the best competitors in the world. To get this opportunity is a dream come true.”

James Hagan, Chair of Hagan Homes said: “Hagan Homes is about more than building properties, it’s about nurturing communities and being part of the community fabric. This has been our mantra over the past three and a half decades working in Northern Ireland and it will translate through our work in Australia too.

“When I met Will I instantly saw his talent and passion for motor racing as well as his ambitions. It was an honour for me to be able to support his drive in these prestigious competitions and I wish him all the best in his future career.”

Mr Hagan is working on a number of sustainable properties in Australia. These properties will be built initially in modest quantities and could be echoed in new developments in Northern Ireland.

“There is a lot of opportunity in the sustainable homes market. We are walking before we run and I look forward to introducing this concept to Northern Ireland.”
